Virtual Lecture Series: 8 – Understanding Diverse Family Systems and the Benefits of Family Recovery

Presentation Overview
Identifying and understanding the characteristics and underlying fears of families confronted with mental health and substance use disorders within their family system. To examine the family response in caretaking for the identified patient and evaluating the impact on roles and family coping behaviors. This course will aid with the definition of Family Recovery and strategies that will aid in Family Self Care.
Course Objectives:
1. Participants will learn to identify specific family fears and behavioral characteristics of families in crisis.
2. Participants will learn how to aid with identifying, implementing, and integrating new family coping strategies.
3. Participants will be able to better understand how to aid the Family with formulating an ongoing Family Recovery Plan.
